Doublet
Operating out of a small office in the Japanese capital’s quiet Setagaya district, Doublet is one of the buzziest brands on the Tokyo scene. Founded in 2012 by designer Masayuki Ino and contemporary artist and pattern maker Takashi Murakami, Doublet is gender neutral but infuses menswear basics with a unique melange of novelty and subversion.
The collections are described as ‘daily wear with a feel of disorder,’ Consisting of a mixture of deconstructed and reconstructed menswear staples like oversized graphic t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, and intarsia sweaters, Ino's sense of humour shows in each piece. Denim jackets with Polaroid embroidery, classic checked shirts with appliqués of real teddy bears blend elements of Eastern and Western aesthetics. You can expect everything from the full crochet bear look to wedding cake embroidered t-shirts in our selection.
