The company is named after the Italian cowboys, the butteri, who roamed the hills in their region with their horses, Tuscany. But they are a modern brand. Founded in 1974 by Mauro Sani, who set out to make the best riding boots in the world, Buttero remains owned and run by the Sani family: three generations working together.
