Clemens Telfar started his eponymous label in 2005 as a label that is “Not for you – it`s for everyone.” Inclusivity is one of the principles of his brand – there is no gender assigned in Telfar´s collections. The a-gender aspect is a big part of the brand´s aesthetic, in addition to many other elements like music culture and politics. Clemens Telfar wants to create “horizontal, democratic and universal” fashion for a community that hasn`t been represented by the fashion industry before.
